The priorities in the traditional subsectors of healthcare and the life sciences are determined based on different types of criteria, including:

• the SFPI-FPIM’s exposure to these sectors compared to the average of the Belgian economy;
• the preventive nature of the projects analysed and their impact on the well-being of the patients;
• the likelihood of financial return and the existence of a funding gap.
